Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): The 25th presentation ceremony of Mayangnokcha Awards for Academic Excellence was held at Mayangnokcha Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung with former governor of Odisha, Dr. SC. Jamir as the special guest on Nov. 2.
The special guest, Dr. SC Jamir, while speaking at the programme, said that it was a privilege for all of us to be living in the 21st century. Therefore, one need to change one’s mindset and think out of the box to actively participate in this fast changing world, he said.
Saying that the youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow, the former governor said that there is hardly any room for the mediocre in this highly competitive world; thus one has to be the best to achieve one’s goal in life.
On the present Naga society, Jamir said that the greatest danger to the Naga society is that ‘the Nagas do not know where they are today and have lost directions to move ahead’. He said that the people are blinded by greed and have made corruption a part of their culture; therefore, Jamir asked the youths to be proactive and move on by exhibiting integrity in life so as to bring about a change in the society.
