- DIMAPUR — A
Christmas worship service was held at Sumi Baptist Church (SBC), Kohima, on
December 25, where Y Kikheto Sema, chairman of the board of deacons, SBC
Kohima, underscored the significant disparity in terms of socio-economic status
in society today.
- According to an update, citing the example of some parts of
the eastern Naga areas and pockets of the “northern Sema area under the
Bhandari and Mongkolemba subdivisions” bordering Assam, he stated that there
should be an effort to grow in unison.
- He emphasised that it is time to bridge the gap in terms of
socio-economic upliftment, a task that cannot be achieved by the government
alone. He urged well-off churches to support the needy in bringing about
equality in society so that all may live in peace and harmony.
