Dimapur, Dec. 6 (EMN): Sazolie College, Jotsoma, has conducted a workshop for History Honours students on ‘My History Kit’ on December 5. The workshop was conducted with the objective to demonstrate that study of history could be interesting and engaging as opposed to the general view that it is a dull and boring subject.
The resource persons were Ms Shradha Jain and Ms Priyanka Baliyan from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, who are presently working in collaboration with ‘History Hive,’ Pune. They were accompanied by Dr. Chumbeno Ngullie, Assistant Professor, Department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University.
The resource persons stated that history needs to be viewed and understood from a wider perspective. They dwelt on the fact that our daily activities and experiences, thoughts, failures and success are all a part of history.
‘My History Kit’ was provided to all the students, wherein they have actively participated through a very intensive and interactive practical class. The students were encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences and create their own history.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Waluniba Jamir, vice principal, and Dr. Pushpa Nakhro, academic dean, both from the Department of History.
