DIMAPUR — Sazolie College, Kohima, conducted a faculty development programme (FDP) on April 27, featuring Dr. Paul Wilson, principal of Madras Christian College (MCC) and Suri from MCC, for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

According to an update, the FDP aimed to enhance the capabilities of the faculty through insightful discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. Dr. Gopal Chetri, the principal of Sazolie College, chaired the programme.

Wilson, speaking on the occasion, addressed various topics, including quality assurance, innovation, networking, and the need for career planning and fundraising. He emphasised these crucial facets to ensure the development and advancement of the college.

Highlighting MCC's commitment to corporate social responsibility, apart from academic excellence, he underscored the significance of civic engagement and community services to prepare and equip students with social intelligence for personal and professional development and growth.

Wilson stressed the cultivation of critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, aligning with contemporary educational paradigms. He discussed the concept of HyFlex learning and advocated for outcome-based attendance.

He proposed collaborative initiatives, including student and teacher exchange programmes and internship opportunities. He encouraged proactive identification of institutional pain points and devising effective strategies to convert them for growth and advancement.

Further, he urged the college to be mindful of curriculum design, focusing on addressing skill deficits to meet demand. He shared innovative curriculum design strategies to accommodate diverse courses.
