[dropcap]F[/dropcap]or the Chakhesang to march in tandem with ‘others’, they must strive for unity and maintain peace, the speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly said on Friday.
The Chakhesang Hoho Kohima met in a ‘general session’ in the premises of Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School in Kohima town on March 14.Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Chotisuh Sazo, who graced the occasion as the guest speaker, called upon the Chakhesang community to strive for maintaining peace, integrity and unity. That way, he said, the community would march forward with others.
Sazo underscored the need to inculcate and uphold the qualities of straightforwardness, honesty and hard work for which the Chakhesang are known.
He also talked about the importance of maintaining the good traditional values and practices passed down by the ancestors to prevent anti-social elements in the society.
Stating that the community has to improve its economy, the speaker urged all to focus and strengthen the economy of the community while enhancing their economic security.
Others who spoke during the session include former speaker of the legislative assembly, Zhovehü Lohe and Tenyimi Union president, Timikha Koza.
