Kohima, Oct. 14 (EMN): In a run-up to its 25 years celebration in December, the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has organised a sanitation day in the Southern Angami region on October 14.
According to a press release by the organisation, the sanitation drive was carried out by the youth in all the thirteen villages under the Southern Angami region where village footpaths, lanes and roads were cleared.
SAYO will be celebrating its jubilee on the theme ‘Rekindling traditions’ at Viswema village in December. It has also planned series of seminars and activities to commemorate the celebration.
SAYO president, Neisizo Kuotsu, mentioned that the sanitation drive was held in order to continue the tradition of upholding values of dignity of labour and cleanliness and hygiene among its young.
Basing on the theme, it informed that AYO will be organising seminars on October 28 at Kezo town and Viswema village on the issues of conservations of wildlife and biodiversity in relation to its traditions and customs.
