DIMAPUR — The launching programme of Satellite OST Centre at PHC Chessore town, Shamator district, was held on August 23 at Chessore town under the Office of CMO, Tuensang.
According to a DIPR report, the centre was inaugurated by K Tsusola, Associate Pastor Women, Chessore Town Baptist Church.
Dr. Kumrimong Yimchunger, Medical Officer of Chessore PHC, stated that opium addiction is primarily a mental health issue rather than a physical one. He encouraged the community to work together to create a society of acceptance, where individuals struggling with addiction can receive support without judgment.
Dr. Yimchunger expressed gratitude to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Tuensang and his team for developing the area, which had previously been neglected.

He also urged the people of Chessore Block to utilise the Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) centre and assured them that his team was committed to providing assistance and support for the betterment of society and the recovery of those affected by addiction.
Dr. Senilo Magh, Psychiatrist and Nodal Officer (OST), District Hospital Tuensang, also imparted the importance of helping the people in need and overcoming their challenges.
Short speeches were also delivered by Zhelo, Chessore Village Council Chairman; Lakiumong, Head DB, Chessore Town; and Chuba, President of Chessore Town Public Forum.
Earlier, welcome address was proposed by Chongshen C Chang, DPO DAPCU, Tuensang, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Chongtin Sumao, Lab Technician, PHC Chessore.
