DIMAPUR — The Satakhami Union Dimapur HQ has successfully completed its first-ever district tour, visiting 34 villages across the Western Sümi areas of Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts.
The three-month outreach, which ran from March to May, was launched under the leadership of President Bokato Zhimomi and the current office bearers, stated an update.
It said that the tour marks a milestone in the union's 33-year history since its establishment in 1993 as for the first time, office bearers undertook a sustained, organised programme aimed at strengthening bonds among the Satakha people in the Western Sümi region, protecting a shared identity, and promoting unity for the social and cultural advancement of the Sümi and the wider Naga community.
During a series of outreach visits, the union engaged with village chiefs, Kukamis, and elders through constructive dialogue and cultural exchange.

The delegation visited 34 villages, with eight additional villages scheduled to be visited after the monsoon season to complete the outreach programme.
Zhimomi said the tour was designed to deepen relationships among the Satakha people and with other Sümi and Naga communities. The union called on the people of Satakha to act as ambassadors of peace and unity, to honour their ancestral roots, and to carry forward their legacy by building a progressive and inclusive society.
The union expressed gratitude to village chiefs, Kukamis, elders, and community leaders for the constructive dialogue and continuing cooperation throughout the visits. It also reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing engagement and programmes that foster cultural pride, communal harmony, and socio-cultural development across the Western Sümi region.
