Dimapur, Jan 21: The 33rd Satakha Range Students Union (SRSU) biennial general conference, held under the theme “Growing impact,” from January 12 concluded on January 15 at Hoishe village.
The concluding session was graced by former president of All Sumi Students Union (SKK), Zheito Chophy, as chief of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Chophy said student’s leaders and students are the common men who represent for the welfare of the students community and its people. He urged that student’s platform should not misuse or politicise by the politicians, as students are the backbone of the society and further advised the students to remain apolitical and maintain its protocol in the society.
He also urged the students to be humble, God fearing and self determined and live an ambitious life to succeed in life.
Referring to the Bible passage, he said common man should not be greedy and jealous of the wealthy men but respect rich men and educated persons, so that a person would also blessed like them.
Considering the rampant corruption in the society, he said that common property or a public fund shouldn’t only enjoy by some people which is meant for public development and should be properly utilised for the common welfare.
“It is the duty of the common people to ask MLAs about the development activities, good infrastructure and better communication when representative MLA is invited in the constituency” Chophy said.
Urging upon quality leadership, he said good coordination, teamwork, dedication and honesty is essential and added that when a responsible person fails to hold his responsibility, it is due to lack of quality leadership.

Ihoshe, pastor of Hoishe Baptist Church Aizuto (HBCA) blessed the newly elected office bearers for the tenure 2017-19, headed by Bokalu Jimo as president and Vinoholi Shohe as general secretary.
