Dimapur, Sep 12 (EMN): With an objective to preserve and conserve the environment, Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) along with student volunteers from the 13 southern Angami villages initiated its annual cleanliness drive at Dzukuo valley from September 8 to 10 on theme “Viridescence.”
Around 25 members undertook a rigorous cleaning drive around the camps, rest places and pathways.
“As a student body, the union feels obligated to keep the site clean, visitor-friendly and keep sight of its sustenance,” SASU stated in a press release.With unaccounted number of trekkers and visitors the year round to the aesthetic site, the union has requested visitors and public to make proper use of the waste disposal bins duly arranged by them. The union has also warned again any act that will render to tarnishing the aesthete of the valley such as plucking flowers and cutting of trees.
Meanwhile, the union has expressed gratitude to Kesalhoulie Sekhose, Director of Tourism Department, for rendering financial assistance during the drive.
