Dimapur, Feb 27: The 12-day National Integration Tour (NIT) for 13 students and 2 teachers of School of Agricultural Science & Rural Development (SASRD), Medziphema, organised by 41 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) concluded on February 25.
During the tour, participants visited places of historical and tourist importance at Delhi, Agra and Jaipur which included Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Rastrapati Bhawan, India Gate, Tajmahal, Hawamahal and Amer fort. The students also experienced the ride in ‘Metro’ at Delhi. The highlight of the trip was an enriching interaction with the President of India Pranab Mukherjee. The team also met Dr. Jitender Singh, minister for Development of North East Region (DONER), and Lt. Gen. Saranjeet Singh, Chief of the Staff of ‘South Western Command of Army.
Meanwhile, the students have appreciated the Assam Rifles for providing an insight into ethnic and cultural diversity of the country which would go a long way in broadening their horizon and act as a catalyst to achieve greater heights in their careers.
