Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): A one-day workshop on “Technologies of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre” was conducted at School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Nagaland University (SASRD), Medziphema on Sep. 1.
The workshop was organised by the department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Technologies Display and Dissemination Facility (DTDDF) SASARD.
An update from the department informed that 75 post graduate students participated in the workshop. An exercising authority of DTDDF, Dr. NK Patra, spoke on scientific research and societal activities of the DAE and activities of DTDDF which has been functioning in collaboration with BARC, Mumbai.
Dr. Patra gave a brief introduction of BARC and their domain of works such as nuclear technology, bio-medics, agriculture, food security, environment, and health. He also highlighted about the available technologies with DTDDF.
In the technical session, different technologies were displayed and demonstrated.
T Senchumo Yanthan, a staff of the department and Sashilia Ao, a research scholar, demonstrated the use of domestic water purifier, foldable solar dryer, soil organic carbon detection kit, and fluoride detection kit.
Participants were encouraged to take up entrepreneurship and mobilise the community and youth with BARC technologies.
