Mokokchung, March 28 (EMN): Sashimar Jamir, former JD (U) candidate from 24-Angetyongpang assembly constituency, and his supporters joined the Congress on Thursday.
A programme was held at DCC Mokokchung office to welcome the former candidate and his supporters from 10 JD (U) blocks in Mokokchung district.
Sashimar Jamir contested from Angetyongpang seat in 2013 on NPF ticket; and in 2018 on JD (U) ticket. He lost on both the occasions.
Interacting with the media persons, Jamir claimed that his decision was based on the “advice” of his supporters.
According to Jamir, he has joined a party that is secular and whose manifesto focuses on people’s welfare “without distinguishing between race and creed.”
