Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The 10th edition of Saramati soccer championship 2018, organised by the Saramati Nexus Club kicked off at the public ground, in Pungro town on Mon. Dec. 10.
According to an update received here on Monday, the inaugural function was attended by Mechanical Engineer LHEP, Hom Bahadur Khaki, on behalf of Director NEC, Energy Pvt. Ltd. Sapu Bhattacharyya.
Sapu conveyed his regret for his absent during such an auspicious occasion. Er. Hom delivered the chief guest message where he congratulated the organiser Saramati Nexus Club for attaining 10 years of its existence. He further acknowledged the organiser for promoting and creating platform for the youths of Pungro Sub- division to expose and improve their talent in sports arena. He further expressed hope that, the Saramati Nexus Club will continue to guide the sportsmen so as to compete in the state level. Hom also stressed on the importance of discipline as a sportsman. At the programme, the first convener SNC, Kinan recalled the formation of SNC since 10 years back. He acknowledged all the team players and further thanked all the contributors for briging the tournament thus far. The inaugural match was played between Faith Ballers Phuvkiu and Sun Rise Club where the Faith Ballers Phuvkiu defeated Sun Rise Club by 4-0 goals. Altogether, 15 teams are participating in the 6-day tournament.
