Sao Chang College in Tuensang hosted its 53rd freshers’ meet on the theme 'Beyond the threshold'.
DIMAPUR — The Sao Chang College Students’ Union (SCCSU) organised the 53rd freshers’ meet at the college’s multipurpose hall in Tuensang on August 25, themed “Beyond the threshold”.
The programme welcomed the new students to the college community and provided an opportunity for them to interact with fellow students and faculty.
According to an update, Principal of Sao Chang College, Dr. Lanurenla, highlighted the college’s distinguished alumni and the various awards and programmes offered by the institution. She also shared her perspectives as both a principal and a parent.
The informal session featured various performances by students, along with the Mr. and Ms. Freshers’ competition, which was judged by Head of the Department (HoD) of Sociology Dr. Y Toninaro Chongpho, HoD of the Department of Economics Naongchemden Chang, and Mr. Chang 2025 Longme Kumzuk.

The titles were presented in a series, with Moalemla (Education) winning Ms. Congeniality and B Sangle Chiba (English) securing Mr. Personality. Aliya (Sociology) and Sangtsali Sangtam (History) were adjudged Ms. and Mr. Ramp Walk, respectively.
The Ms. Fresher and Mr. Fresher titles were clinched by Phumshung W Phom (Political Science) and Hiamphai (Sociology), respectively.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by General Secretary of SCCSU Sangmailenla. Betikhumla presented a vocal performance, while Rangcholi delivered a speech on behalf of the freshers.
