Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): Sao Chang College in Tuensang celebrated its 49th fresher’s day on October 1 at the college campus with its principal, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, as the speaker on the theme ‘Embracing excellence.’
A press release from the college informed that Dr. Vupru has advised the students to set their standards high by aiming to compete with the rest of the world. Basing on the core concept of NEP 2020, which is to provide maximum skill enhancement courses along with vast options in academics, he encouraged the students to experience and explore as many opportunities as possible, while at the same time to prioritise on securing quality results in academic performance.
The principal also informed the students that the college would be celebrating its golden jubilee in 2023 and that they must consider themselves fortunate to witness such an important event during their stay in the college.
Highlights of the programme included contest for Mister and Miss Fresher and performances including rap, beat boxing, songs and dance by the students.
In the Mister and Miss Fresher contest, Shangjep and Changlenla H were crowned Mister and Miss Fresher respectively.
