DIMAPUR, JUNE 10: Aimed at delivering better health services and facilities through specialist doctors from within and outside the State of Nagaland, Sanjeevani Polyclinic and Diagnostic Centre was inaugurated today at Ram Janki Higher Secondary School Road, Dimapur. State Minister of Roads & Bridges, Y Vikheho Swu, inaugurated the centre.
Translated as “one that infuses life,” Selaginella bryopteris - commonly known as Sanjeevani & Devanagari - is a lithophytic plant which is used medicinally in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister lauded Sanjeevani team for coming up with such initiative and appealed to other doctors in the state of Nagaland to take up such kind of social activities to work for the betterment of weaker sections in the society.
At present the clinic has two renowned doctors namely Dr. Sanjib Chowdhury, MBBS (General Physician), and Dr. Azidi Zeliang, MD (Child Specialist), along with renowned physician from Grace Gift Healing Centre, Tiasashi Aier, who would attend to the call for few hours in a day.
The clinic also planned to add more doctors to join the team apart from specialist doctors visiting time to time from outside the State.
CEO Sanjeevani, Rakesh Jain, a well known social worker, is also associated with various social organisations and NGOs who works for the welfare of the society.
As appealed by the Union Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during the 2nd Anniversary celebration of NDA government to the doctors in India for giving one day free check up every month to the poor and downtrodden women in the country who cannot afford to pay for doctor consultation fees, the centre announced to give free doctor consultancy service with prior and proper appointment by Dr. Sanjib Chowdhury, General Physician, on the 9th day of every month.
To proof its uniqueness, the polyclinic had issued free check up coupons be examined by Dr. Sanjib Chowdhury on the occasion which would be validated till June 30.
Team Sanjeevani further planned to have check up and health awareness campaign in different schools in and around Dimapur to educate children and give better health and an hygienic way of living.
