Kohima, Dec. 19 (EMN): Sanctuary Choir of Union Baptist Church (UBC), Kohima, performed several popular Christmas songs to lighten the festive mood during a Christmas cantata entitled “Come and see, Go and tell,” on Sunday night at the capital city Kohima.
Through their choral music, the performers conveyed positive messages of Christmas as a crowd gathered around the Old NST area to witness the live carol.

Welcoming one and all to the Christmas carol, Rev. Rachülie Vihienuo, pastor of UBC, Kohima, said winter is synonymous with Christmas and the "best time" for all the young and old alike.
However, he asserted that the winter has been "disturbing, painful and unusual," lately in the state while referring to the incident of Oting village at Mon district recently, 'which has left us shaken and that we are yet to come to terms'. "We are grieving with the families of the victims."
In the backdrop of such a situation, the pastor said they did not come up with a celebratory mood but to look to Jesus who "gives us joy, peace, hope and healing". 'As such, we have come to sing songs of hope which Christ gives'. "He (Jesus) can turn our sorrow to joy; darkness into light, pain to healing," Vihienuo added.
Later invoking God's blessings, the pastor acknowledged Kohima Smart City for the festive decoration made at the venue.
The two-day Christmas cantata began on Saturday evening.
