Samziuram Youth Organisation defeats New Jalukie Youth Organisation to win the 16th Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament.

DIMAPUR — The 16th Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament concluded at the Local Ground, Samziuram village, on Saturday.
The final match was played between Samziuram Youth Organisation and New Jalukie Youth Organisation, where Samziuram Youth Organisation emerged as the champions after a penalty shootout.
According to a press release, the champions were awarded a cash prize of INR 2 lakh along with a certificate, while the runners-up received INR 1 lakh.

In individual awards, Paulinlung of New Jalukie Youth Organisation received the Golden Boot, while Kevichuto of Beisumpuikam FC received the Golden Glove. The Player of the Tournament was awarded to Akiak of the Samziuram Youth Organisation.
Each individual award recipient received a cash prize of INR 5,000.
The closing ceremony was attended by D Robin, additional deputy commissioner, Peren, as the special guest.
In his address, he remarked that the game is a medium for fostering unity. He expressed hope that Jalukie Valley would continue to grow stronger through such sporting events. He observed that villages in the Zeliangrong areas, particularly in Jalukie Valley, reserve prime locations for local grounds.
He urged young players to pursue football as a career and motivated them to aspire to represent their villages at state, national, and international platforms. He advised players to respect match officials and adhere to the rules of the game.
