DIMAPUR — The Samsi Railway Station under Katihar division of N. F. Railway has been awarded ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in recognition of providing high-quality, nutritious food to passengers.
The certification has been awarded for the period from November 21 2023 to November 20 2025, updated the chief public relations officer of N. F. Railway.
The station became the sixth railway station in N. F. Railway, after Guwahati, Harishchandrapur, Lumding, Rangiya and Mariani, to get the status after qualifying the guidelines established by the FSSAI, said the update, adding that efforts have been put in for certification of more stations.
It may be mentioned that the ‘Eat Right Station’ certification is granted by FSSAI to railway stations adhering to standard food storage and hygiene practices, setting a benchmark in providing safe and wholesome food to passengers.
A station is awarded a certificate upon a conclusion of an FSSAI-empanelled third-party audit agency, according to the update.
The certification is part of the 'Eat Right India' movement by FSSAI to transform the country's food system to ensure safe, healthy and sustainable food for all Indians, it added.
