Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): The department of Health and Family Welfare has revealed that Covid-19 positivity rate of samples collection from Dimapur Airport between April 17 and the 29th was around 54%.

“Between 17- 29 April 2021, 833 samples were tested from Dimapur Airport and 449 passengers were found to be Covid-19 positive with a positivity rate of 54%,” it stated.

The department also issued an advisory urging the citizens not to travel unless it is very necessary.

It advised travellers to avoid public transport from point of entry and to strictly observe the 3Ws (wear mask, wash hands, watch distance), from point of entry till they reach their room for quarantine.

Further, the department also highlighted mandatory quarantine, stating that even after a negative test result, the returnees should strictly quarantine for a minimum of seven days and observe for symptoms as well as strictly follow the 3Ws and 3Cs (crowded places, closed spaces, close contact setting) after quarantine.

The department officials had earlier attributed the recent steep rise in Covi-19 positive cases in the state to public carelessness and those coming from outside the state.
