SAMETI conducts training on management of soil

SAMETI Medziphema has organized a training on soil health management on May 22 and 23 at SAMETI Training Hall, Medziphema, with the participation of 22 ATMA functionaries and extension workers from agri and allied department from various districts. The trainees were imparted technical knowledge on importance of soil health, management, importance of bio fertilizer and its uses in agriculture, vermi compost for sustainable agriculture, importance of soil test and its impact in agriculture, soil sample collection methods and visits to Bio Fertilizer Laboratory and Soil laboratory for practical demonstration.The resource persons were Benjamin Lotha, Lecturer In - charge Bio Fertilizer Laboratory, and Mrs. Beremjungla, Agriculture officer, Chemistry Laboratory, Medziphema.
The training concluded with valedictory function where certificates were given away by Nguzonyi Wetsah, Director SAMETI and Principal IETC Medziphema.
