DIMAPUR — As of July 20, 2023, the state of Nagaland has thirteen textile training centres in operation under Samarth (Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector), and over the last three years and the current year, these centres have provided training in textile capacity building to 810 beneficiaries under the scheme.
This was stated by the Minister of State for the Ministry of Textiles, Darshana Jardosh, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The minister further stated that the scheme provides demand-driven, placement-oriented training programmes aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to supplement industry efforts in creating employment opportunities in the organised textile and allied sectors.
He said the scheme covers the entire value chain of textiles, barring spinning and weaving, which have been incorporated under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
