Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) organised fresher’s day cum academic inaugural function on June 9 at Fr. Bernick’s Hall, with Dr. Sanjay Chhabra, Principal of Unity College, Dimapur as chief guest.
The programme opened with a prayer and lighting of the lamps. A short prayer of invocation was led by Fr. Dr. Sunny Joseph, Rector Good Shepherd Seminary.
In his welcome speech, Principal of SCHE, Fr. Dr. Policarp Xalxo wished the first semester students and new lecturers an enriching and fruitful years. He also presentated the academic report of 2016-17 and congratulated Sister Rosamystica Mylliemumlong who topped in the Philosophy department.
Dr. Sanjay encouraged the freshers and the new lectures to keep on learning, for learning is a life-long process. Rector and Director of SCHE, Fr. Tom Karthik also exhorted the students to grasp all the opportunities and enjoy the college life.
Highlights of the programme included prize distribution, choir-piece, gospel song, comedy, and football friendly match between the freshers and the college team. The programme was co-ordinated by the 3rd Semester students.
