Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): Group Captain Prasun Basu has taken over the command of Sainik School Punglwa as the new principal from officiating Principal Lt. Col. M Kiran Meitei on July 3.
Group Captain Prasun Basu by qualification is M. Sc in Mathematics, MCA and PGDMFM. He was commissioned in 1994 in education branch of Indian Air Force. He has a vast experience having worked in renowned institutions such as Air Force Training Institute in Bangalore, Air HQ Computer Cell; Psychologist at SSB Dehradun and as Command Education Officer, Allahabad. He was awarded Chief of Air Staff Commendation in 2009 for his meritorious service.
The Principal, on his arrival, was welcomed to the school by a Guard of Honour presented by the cadets of Class XII and latter briefed by Lt. Col. M Kiran Meitei, the administrative officer and Squadron Leader Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Principal.
It may be recalled that Group Captain Sharad R Keskar had relinquished the duties of principal in May 19 after serving for over one and a half year.
