Sainik School Punglwa delegation meets Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, seeks doctor, scholarships and infrastructure support in Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — A joint delegation comprising principal of Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland (SSPN), executive members of the Old Boys’ Association (OBA) and executive committee of the SSPN Parent- Teacher Association, called on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday to discuss key issues concerning the progress and welfare of the institution.
According to a press release issued by SSPN, the delegation placed before the chief minister several requirements for the school.
These included the appointment of a full-time doctor to ensure timely and comprehensive medical care for cadets, provision of 100% scholarships for cadets from Nagaland to promote inclusivity and wider access to quality education, and an enhanced grant-in-aid to support ongoing and future infrastructure development.
The discussions were held in a constructive and forward-looking manner, focusing on strengthening academic excellence, upgrading residential facilities, and ensuring the holistic development of cadets.
Rio gave a patient hearing to the matters raised and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the school administration, alumni, and parents.

He assured the delegation that the government would take necessary action on the issues presented.

They reaffirmed their collective commitment to work in close coordination with the government for the continued growth and excellence of the institution.
The delegation comprised Dr. (Col) Smita Misra, Principal SSP; HK Khulu, president of OBA Nagaland Chapter; Levi Rengma and Yangba Konyak, vice presidents, OBA; Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, general secretary, OBA; along with other members of the Old Boys Association and members of the SSPN Parent- Teacher Association.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the chief minister for his continued support and encouragement for the betterment of the only Sainik School of the state of Nagaland.
