Sainik School, Punglwa hockey c’ship concludes

Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): Sainik School Punglwa Inter-House Hockey Championship 2017-18 concluded on May 8 with defending champions Melak House lifting the trophy for the second consecutive year. Group Captain Sanjay Gaekwad, Principal was the chief guest for the occasion. The championship saw a stiff competition between the six mother houses. After a series of league and knock-out matches, Melak House and Saramati House played the grand finale. In a thrilling match between the two houses, Melak House defeated Saramati House with a score of 2-1. Cadet Rahul Kumar of Melak House was declared the best player of the championship. Squadron Leader Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Principal congratulated the winning house and rest of the players of the tournament for giving their best. He also gave away the certificates, medals and trophy. Doyang House finished third in the championship.
