Sainik School junior football c’ship concludes

Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): The Sainik School Punglwa organised a football championship for novice cadets from Oct. 23-29 with an objective to encourage them to explore their talents in games and sports and to enable them to excel in the game they are good at. In an update received here on Tuesday, the championship was played on knockout basis by six sections of classes 6 and 7. In the final match, class 7A defeated class 6C by 6 goals to nil and was crowned champions of the tournament. Cdt Keyiliagumbe was adjudged the best player of the championship. Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, the principal of the school who attended the event as the chief guest in his short address encouraged the cadets to put in their best in the game and practise hard as the school shall groom the young players for Subroto Cup U-14.
