Dimapur, Aug. 24 (EMN): A cadet, Manna Deb, from the first batch of 2013-14 of Sainik School Punglwa got commissioned as sub lieutenant on May 26 after four years of rigorous training at Indian Naval Academy in Kochi.
The school authority on Friday said that Deb is the first officer to be commissioned into the Indian armed forces from the school.
The academy course that he underwent training was 93 INAC (Indian Naval Academy Course) and he is now enlisted in the Electrical cadre in navy.
Shortly, the Deb will be proceeding to INS Valsura in Gujarat for another one and half years of training after which he will be given ship posting, it informed.
The principal, staff and cadets of the school conveyed best wishes to the Deb and his family on successful completion of his training and on his commissioning as sub lieutenant in Indian navy. The school also wished him all the very best in rendering his valuable service to the nation and hope that he continues to motivate other cadets of the school.
