Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): The chief medical officer of Dimapur Vikato Kinimi and a team of food safety officials carried out inspections at the Breeze Bakery and Popsicle ice-cream factory in Dimapur on Monday. The commissioner-secretary for Health and Family Welfare Himato Zhimomi informed that the proprietors of the two establishments have been directed to make improvements. Zhimomi lamented that some hotels and restaurants were not taking things to task even after knowing that the food safety officials had been carrying out inspections in Dimapur. He wondered why they should make changes only after the inspections. The commissioner mentioned that he was happy to see Plaza bakery making quick changes for food safety and hygiene. “Subsequent to our notice, happy to inform that Plaza bakery already in massive improvement and cleanliness drive,” Zhimomi tweeted on Twitter. “I want to make Nagaland the most hygienic and healthy food available in India,” Zhimomi stated, adding that he was not doing so just for prosecution but for the benefit of the people. Zhimomi informed that the check will continue. He expressed gratitude to the food safety team of doctors, food safety officers, food analysts, and lab technicians. “Food safety team is working together and I am proud of my team.”
