DIMAPUR — Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School (SHHSS), Chizami, began its annual sports and games on the theme "Together towards excellence and service" on Monday.
Rentsamo Kikon, District Education Officer (DEO) of Phek, attended the occasion as the special guest. According to an update, he was accompanied by his colleagues Nuvesayi Hoshi and Hitsote.
In his address to the students, the special guest stated that it is not academics alone but sports and games that refresh the mind and bring about holistic formation. He also stated that it improves fitness, boosts immunity, reduces stress, and enhances focus, thereby improving academic performance.
It was mentioned that, unlike yesteryears, this year’s opening ceremony was marked by a theme march instead of the usual march past.
