Dimapur, Dec. 7: The three senior BJP leaders of Nagaland who were recently sacked from their positions in the party hierarchy have – in a virtual revolt against the state BJP leadership – written to the BJP national president, Amit Shah seeking “justice”.
Citing directives from “central party leaders”, the state BJP leadership had on December 5 last removed vice presidents, James Vizo and Mghato Achumi and spokesperson, Yanghose Sangtam from their respective assignments.
In the letter, the three sacked leaders have stated they were informed by the Nagaland BJP president, Visasolie Lhoungu “that a direction was given by the central BJP leaderships to drop us from our respective assignments with immediate effect without specifying any reasons.”The message was delivered to them at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur at 12.30 pm on December 5 last, they have stated. “On being queried the reasons for dropping us, he could not give us any tangible response to satisfy us. Sir, as a (sic) sincere and dedicated party workers, our main objective is to be prepared for the next (sic) forthcoming 2018 assembly election and we have not played anything which would be detrimental to the party.
“We place this to your notice and request you to kindly deliver justice to us in the greater interest of BJP in the state as well in the national level. We commit our service to the party with sincerity and dedication,” they have stated further.
