DIMAPUR — Hynilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) inaugurated a new concrete cricket pitch at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School ground in Kohima on Saturday.

The initiative was undertaken by The Elite Cricket Club (ECC) Kohima, according to an update received here.

Speaking at the event, Khing lauded the ECC for promoting cricket and providing opportunities to young and budding cricketers from Kohima and the rest of the state. He said the club has been one of the driving forces behind the success of cricket in Kohima and expressed hope that the new facility will draw more people into the game.

In the meantime, he lamented that Kohima, once a strong cricketing district and a major contributor of Nagaland cricket, is lagging behind other districts today.

He urged the lovers of the game and stakeholders to come together and rebuild the cricket community; to contribute and promote it in Kohima.
