Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic People’s Party (NDPP) on Thursday observed its first foundation day with a thanksgiving prayer service at the party headquarters in Dimapur.
“The party while thanking God almighty for bountiful blessings and guidance, take this opportunity to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to the people of Nagaland for the love, support and solidarity. The NDPP was formed as a response to the desire of the people for an alternative and the need for a movement to bring positive change,” read a statement from the party.
It asserted its commitment to the party’s aims, objectives and ‘the sacred commitments’ made to the people. “We reiterate our declaration of working tirelessly for the all-round upliftment (sic) of the people’s welfare. The NDPP will strive for achievement of a redrawn roadmap of development, enforce transparency and combat corruption at all levels.
“The NDPP will remain focused on its agenda and will not be distracted by the lies and false propaganda (sic) of our adversaries as we respect the mindset and maturity of the people. Rather, we call upon all sections of the people to join us in our collective endeavour of bringing about positive change, as every citizen is a stakeholder in the future of Nagaland and it is our aim that no person should be left behind in the new journey of growth and progress.”
