Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can foresee positive aspect of its growth in the northeast region especially after its big wins in Manipur and Assam, and the party will position itself for the next election in Nagaland with active participation. This was affirmed by union minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (independent charge) Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Tuesday in Dimapur.
Rudy is in Dimapur to grace the International Yoga Day 2017 in Dimapur at Agri Expo Hall Dimapur on Wednesdays. The event has been organised by the ministry of Skill Development with Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council and ministry of AYUSH.
Rudy asserted, ‘PM Modi has special focus on northeast region especially Nagaland state in terms of bringing development and peace process’.
Briefing media persons inside the Nagaland police complex at Chumukedima, he said the prime focus of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government is on the poor, underprivileged people, farmers, unemployed and women.
Reiterating on the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) centre which will soon come up in Kiphire and Longleng districts, the union minister confided the government was considering creating a girls’ hostel for the ITI centre.
“The government is also considering a proposal to make two-year -diploma courses at ITIs equivalent to matriculation and Class 12 in order to ensure greater participation in skill training programmes”, informed Rudy. He also detailed that this proposal will mean if a student completes an ITI course, he/she will be eligible for admission in a graduate degree programme at a college or University which will benefit about 2.3 million students across the country.
Rudy refuted claims that the BJP was prompting the cow imbroglio which has also put the BJP led NDA government in a fix. Responding to the ‘cow slaughter and beef ban’ issue in the country, Rudy maintained ‘every citizen should adhere to the Constitution of India and not create Constitution confrontation’. “The law of the land should be respected and allowed to practise without any infringement”, conveyed the Union Minister Rudy.
