Dr. TM Lotha inaugurates Khumtsü village, Wokha

[dropcap]K[/dropcap]humtsü village, which is located around 25 km from Wokha town, was inaugurated by BJP MLA from 38 A/C Dr. TM Lotha on March 10.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Dr. Lotha urged the newly established village council administration to work cohesively towards the welfare of the village, stating that leaders have to sacrifice a lot in the initial stage for the village to have better future.
He expressed optimism that the huge density of rubber plantation and enormous agricultural and allied potentials will accelerate growth and progress in the village. He also emphasized on the urgent need to shift from traditional system of paddy cultivation towards productive and sustainable farming, including cash crops and horticultural products, as the latter is more lucrative and commercially competitive.Assuring all possible help from the government, he urged the villagers to leave behind all past rancors and look forward with positive mindset and cultivate a strong work ethic in order to build a sustainable and self-reliant village economy. He also donated fifty thousand rupees towards the village council.
Earlier, the village inaugural plaque was dedicated by Rev. Elhio Tsopoe, while the function was chaired by village council chairman, Shenthungo Ezung. Robin Lotha, Depputy Commissioner of Wokha, graced the event as the guest of honour. Others who spoke on the program included, Mhao Humtsoe, chairman, Lotha Hoho, Zayio Ezung, chairman, Longsa vIllage council and Z Ovung, chairman Pongidong Village Council.
A brief history of the village was delivered by M.Athungo Naga while vote of thanks was pronounced by Thungchibemo Humtsoe.
