Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): In view of the rapid increase in the number of Covid positive cases in Nagaland especially in Kohima and Dimapur, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Kohima, has issued new guideline to ensure the safety of all and also check the spread of the virus within the office premises.
In an order, the Kohima RTO, S Yaongsanglee Chang, informed that no person would be allowed entry into the office premises without wearing a face mask and also maintain a distance of two metres.
To avoid overcrowding, the officer has directed all concerned to contact its customer service/ helpline number 9863028315 to make an appointment before coming to the RTO office. It added that no transaction/ application would be entertained in the office premises without prior appointment.
The officer has further asked all the concerned not to make an appointment if they are unwell.
Catholic churches to observe special prayer day on May 7
Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): In an attempt to relieve the Covid-19 pandemic, Catholic churches in Nagaland will observe a special day of prayer and fasting on May 7.
The special day of prayer and fasting is being organised as per the communication from Bishop’s House, Kohima, as well as from the president of Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI), Oswald Cardinal Gracias in consultation with the heads of the Syro Malabar and Syro Malankara churches. The programme is being organised to unitedly turn to God in this time of distress, panic and sorrow caused by the spread of Covid-19 infections.
An update from Kohima Diocese informed that leaders from other churches, especially the NCCI and EFI, have also agreed to join in the prayer programme on the same day.
Meanwhile, it informed every community and parish to spend an hour by praying to end the pandemic, healing of those infected, comfort of those in mourning, courage and consolation of those frontline workers before the sacrament.
