Diphu, June 2 (EMN): A seven days ultimatum was served to the Public work Department (PWD), Diphu road division two RTI activists Podmo Teron and Thengbeng Engleng seeking clarification on road improvement project from Joysing Doloi Auditorium Hall to Bijoy Teron village where the activists claims that the latter village does not exist.
The activists said this during a press conference held at PHE in IB Diphu on June 2 Saturday.
Teron informed that under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Territorial Council (KAATC) package for improvement of roads from Joysing Doloi Auditorium Hall to Bijoy Teron village approach road via Cotton Ginning Mill of road formation including a RCC Bridge was sectioned with an amount of INR 3.60 crore out of which INR 1.80 crore has already been withdrawn.
The activists during the conference unearthed the misuse of funds by the concerned department. The PWD official have misused their power, in paper work they have mentioned Bijoy Teron Village but the name Bijoy Teron village does not exist, claimed the activists who inspected the spot.
The activists warned that PIL would be filed if the department on failure to provide clarification within the given time.
