Home Minister, Y Patton has given Rs.5,50,000 as accommodation allowance for the students of different schools and colleges in the Southern Angami area affected from the recent Phesama landslide on NH-29. The amount was handed over to the Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) on September 20.
In this regard, the SASU, while expressing gratitude to the minister, informed all the affected 1075 students of St. Joseph College Jakhama, Japfü Christian College Kigwema, St. Paul School Phesama, Loyola School Jakhama and Government High School Kigwema who availed temporary accommodation arranged by SASU to avail the allowance.
The payment will be made to the students in their respective schools and colleges, informed SASU president Teisovi Thorie in a press release today.
