Dimapur, Aug. 30 (EMN): Rising People’s Party (RPP) organised a tour of Dimapur and Wokha districts to sensitise people on the aims and objectives of the party and ‘create awareness about the present system of mis-governance’ prevailing in the state.
An update from the party stated that RPP led by its president Joel Naga visited Zani village in Dimapur district and Wokha town and Tseminyu town on August 28.
It said that the RPP team visited Zani village accompanied and escorted by the Chakhesang Riders Club. The convenor of the five villages’ road committee Vechizo Dozo emphasised and shared the problems faced by the citizens due to the pathetic condition of the village road – which is also the road leading to the New Naga Cemetery.
Interactive meetings were held at Wokha town and Tseminyu town, it said. After a brief introduction of its core principles and vision, the RPP team had an interactive discussion with the participants, where issues related to the present political system, need for changes, Christian ethics and values, practice of unclean elections, etc. were discussed.
Leaders of the party made it clear that the RPP was not against any political party or political leaders but against the ‘present system of mis-governance’.
“A new Nagaland focussed on freedom, democracy, ethics, women empowerment, development, economic sustainability and progress was mooted,” it said.
