RPF rescues six minors from different stations; arrest two touts and three criminals

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railway rescued as many as six minor boys and girls from different stations/trains between June 3 to 9, before the children could be lured by anti-social elements, stated an update by the chief public relation officer of NF Railway in Maligaon. It may be mentioned that the RPF rescued 708 minor children during the year 2018. The RPF has also apprehended a good number of touts over the year during special drive conducted at many places. In one such case, on June 5, a RPF team of CIB/Rangiya apprehended a person involved in touting activities at the PRS of Nalbari railway station with recovery of a tatkal ticket in the name of four passengers valued at INR 10,290 and one filled up railway requisition form. In another such incident on June 8 during a check and drive against touting conducted by Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) of Lumding, one person was apprehended at ASTC/Nagaon Railway PRS with recovery of five reservation tickets valued at INR 6,535, five blank requisition forms and one mobile phone. Cases were registered against both incidents under section 143 of Railways Act. The RPF has also arrested 57 touts last year. The RPF has arrested criminals who are involved in various types of crimes against railway passengers. In one such case on June 9, CPDS (Crime Prevention & Detection Squad) of CIB team of Katihar conducted a drive against anti-social activities and apprehended three people at Katihar railway station with recovery of three mobile phones, one Aadhar card, one ATM card and cash INR 300 from their possession. The apprehended persons were handed over to GRP of Katihar for further course of action. The RPF has arrested 116 criminals last year.
