DImapur, May 21 (EMN): The QRT (Quick Response Team) of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Guwahati arrested two human traffickers from the Guwahati railway station and rescued three minor girls.
The team arrested the two traffickers identified as Anima Ekka and Thaider Ekka, hailing from Sivasagar and Tinsukia districts of Assam, during a special drive conducted jointly with Railway Child Line, Guwahati on May 17, said Railway Chief Public Relations Officer P J Sharma.
The rescued minor girls hailing from Tinsukia district were to be sent to Delhi for INR 5,000 per head, Sharma said.
The accused were handed over to OC/GRP, Guwahati and a case has been under section 370/371/372/34 IPC.
Six human traffickers have so far been arrested and handed over for prosecution this year, he said.
