A total of 197 new Central government recruits from Nagaland were handed appointment letters under Rozgar Mela (employment fair) by Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour and Employment, Rameshwar Teli, at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, 3rd mile, in Dimapur on Tuesday. Out of the 197 recruits, 123 candidates were selected to join Assam Rifles, 35 were selected to join Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 17 were selected to join Border Security Force, nine for Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), three for Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and 10 candidates were selected as professors at National Institutes of Technology (NIT). The list also included 23 women who would be joining the Assam Rifles in Riflewomen category. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to the new recruits through video conferencing on Tuesday. The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in furthering employment generation and providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment as well as direct participation in national development.
