Dimapur, March 27
Rotary Rahat Medical Mission (Free surgical camp), sponsored by Rotary International Districts 3080 and 3240 and supported by Government of Nagaland, CIHSR (Referral Hospital) and Rotary Club of Dimapur, would begin on March 28 to April 5. The Rahat Mission would be conducted at District Hospital, Dimapur, where renowned doctors of various specialties would be available for consultation and surgery in the camp.
Past Rotary District Governor, Subhash Garg, and Dr. RS Parmar from Rotary District 3080, veterans of many medical Missions, are the mission directors coordinating the mega event.
The Rotary Rahat Medical Mission has a history of being a source of relief to the poor and needy patients of backward areas with thousands of patients being operated free of cost and cured of their diseases. The Mission aimed at conducting a large number of surgeries. The idea was to provide quality healthcare catering to mass population. The Medical Mission intends to provide free food, medicines, surgical intervention and post operative care to the needy.
Rotary International District 3240 with the support of Rotary Club of Dimapur, Rotary Club of Kohima and Mokokchung embarked on this journey to provide one of the largest medical relief to the people of Nagaland and neighboring states.
State Governor, PB Acharya, would grace the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. State government, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Department Of Information and Public relations, Dimapur district officials, Dimapur Police, GBs’ Association, churches, NMDA, doctors of IMA,GPA Dimapur and various communities of Dimapur and NGOs have extended support to the Medical Mission.
The Medical Mission would be conducted at Dimapur District Hospital and CIHSR (Referral Hospital) simultaneously from March 28 to April 5. The initial screening and OPD would be conducted at District Hospital Dimapur, while surgeries would be conducted both at Dimapur District Hospital and Referral Hospital, Dimapur.
The Medical Mission team would consist of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and volunteers drawn from various parts of the country.
The Rahat Mission in Dimapur is the first time is being conducted for the first time in North Eastern India under the patronage of the District Governor, Chandu Agarwal. He is the first Rotary District Governor from Nagaland and in-charge of all the Rotary clubs in District 3240 comprising the 7 northeastern states including Sikkim and major portions of West Bengal.
