The Rotary Club of Dimapur will be organizing the 26th Rotary District Conference “Hornbill” a three day event which will be held from 8th to 10th of Jnauary 2016 at Urban Haat Dimapur. This was announced at a press conference on Thurday January 7 at Rotary Centre Midland Dimapur.
Hornbill- a three day event under the chairmanship of Rotarian Dr. D.R.Sharma is all set to witness a wide range of programs with emenient speakers from various parts of the country deliberating on various socila, spiritual and motivational topics. It was also informed that further focus on various flagship social projects of Rotary will be laid on during the business sessions.
Rotary Club President Temsusenla Kichu briefing media persons on the anticipated Conference said the Rotary District Conference will host more than 1500 delegates from various parts of the country for the first time in Nagaland with host of entertainment and cultural programmes comprising of local artists such as the Tetseo Sisters, Alobo Naga, Abiogenesis, Chakesang Naga Group and national band “Dhwani.”
Nagaland which is already known as the land of music will witness a speacial fashion show which is choreographed by acclaimed model Esther Jamir. Clarifying on the name of the proposed Conference “Hornbill” , Rotarian Temsusenla Kichu said the name has been crafted to reflect the rich heritage of Nagaland.
The Host Club Conference committee headed by DG Chandu Agarwal, Chairman Rotarian Dr. D.R. Sharma and Host Club President Temsusenla Kichu while extending gratitude to the State government, Department of Handloom and Handicraft, District Administration, Dimapur Municipal Council, Police Department and varios local organization for providing support appealed upon the citizens of Nagaland to provide warm welcome and best hospitality to the delegates of the Conference as is the tradition of Nagaland.
