Kohima, Aug 11 (EMN): The 16th installation ceremony of Rotary Club at Kohima was held on August 10 in Kohima with Sanjay Jain, assistant governor for the organisation’s zone –IX as the “installation officer.”
A note from the organisation that was issued to the media on Sunday stated that the new board of directors for the tenure 2019-20 besides six new members were instated.
During the programme, Sanjay Jain encouraged the new members to attend the Rotary membership and award ceremony to be hosted at Guwahati on August 18 ‘so that they can be felicitated by the RI district-3240.’
“This year the district is going to focus on membership, public relation and wishes to induct more female members and young members below 40 years. He requested the members of Kohima Club to come forward and donate towards the Rotary Foundation and become Paul Harris Fellow by donating US $ 1000 and District Governor will match US $ 500,” the press release stated.
Basing on this year’s theme of Rotary International “Rotary Connects the World,” he asked the members to ‘take up a project of nation builders award under TEACH programme.’
Again, he requested the club to identify schools and institutions where sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators will be installed from the district grant.
Rotarians from Kohima and Dimapur besides family members and well wishers attended the programme, the updates added.
