Dimapur, June 12 : Rongmei Naga Public Organsiation (RNPO), Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation (RNSO) and the Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYO) have denounced the act of intimidation by the ‘so called’ Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) meted to Rongmei Students’ Organisation Committee to sign an agreement at gun point in April 2016 and demanded the latter to immediately withdrawn and apologised within 15 days.
In a joint meeting on June 10, the three organizations resolved that the matter affecting the affairs of the Rongmei students and youth with intimidation by the ZUF must be addressed with ultimatum for immediate withdrawal of the agreement.
The house strongly denounced such act of unlawful and anti social activities being willfully committed against the students’ community by armed group. It is the voice and decision of the Rongmei people carried by the apex RNPO to protect and safeguard the life of every Rongmei person, the press statement issued by RNYO president G Gwangphun and the general secretary Kanpatlung Pamei said.
The house further resolved that forceful agreement made to sign under duress and suppressive threats meted to the Rongmei Students community must be immediately withdrawn and apologized within 15 days time with effect from June 10 failing which it would invite mass action against the responsible organization.
Meanwhile, officials of the RNSO and RNYO were officially sworn in by Namgai Gonmei, President RNPO, on June 10 at Tamenglong HQ.
