Dimapur, Jan.4 (EMN): The post-harvest festival of the Rongmei community Gaan-Ngai was celebrated at Zeliangrong village in Dimapur “with cultural gusto and religious fervor.” Updates on January 4 informed that the five days long festival started from December 31 to January 4.
‘Offering of holy wine to Tingkao Ragwang, shouting of hoi, extraction of sacred fire, lighting of festival torch, presentation of traditional dances and songs were the main highlights of the celebration. During the festival, prayer were offered to Tingkao Ragwang for peace and prosperity after harvesting crops,’ the updates unformed.
