Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): The Rongmei Naga People’s Organisation (RNPO) has reiterated its stance on what it stated was ‘disassociation from Zeliangrong organisations’ and reaffirm the ‘historic declaration’ made at the Rongmei People’s Convention in Tamenglong on January 9, 2018.
The organisation issued a press release on Friday stating that the Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) and the Zeliangrong Union (AMN) have failed to uphold the interests of the Rongmei Naga tribe on many counts and ‘proved their lethargic leadership over the years except working for their own personal gains’. “Hence, any initiative/decision/move taken by any Zeliangrong organisation on behalf of Rongmei people at any platform will not be considered as valid nor will have people’s endorsement.
“Further, any individual from Rongmei coomunity serving as office bearers in Zeliangrong organisations will be doing so on his/her accord and RNPO will not bear the responsibility for his/her participation/action,” the statement read.
