NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 28
Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir’s blistering spell against India in Saturday’s match has left opener Rohit Sharma injured.
The first ball of the second innings hit Sharma’s left toe leaving the batsman flustered and on the very next ball, he was dismissed.
Reports suggest that the batsman has a sore toe and as precautionary measure, he has undergone an X-Ray test on Sunday morning.
However, the team management has said that the injury is not serious and that the recuperating batsman is expected to play against Sri Lanka on March 1.
Despite Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane’s early exit in the first over, India went on to beat Pakistan by 5 wickets.
